For our final event before the summer break, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Arash Habibi Lashkari (York University), Canada Research Chair in Behaviour-Based Cybersecurity.
This seminar was organized in partnership with the Joint Research Unit in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust (INRS-UQO), the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche et d’innovation en cybersécurité et société (CIRICS), the Computer Security Research Laboratory (LRSI), and the Multidisciplinary Institute for Cybersecurity and Cyberresilience (IMC2).

We had the pleasure of welcoming Julien Le Maux, Full Professor in the Department of Accounting Sciences at HEC Montréal. The seminar took place at the Université de Montréal and was broadcast live to the Université du Québec en Outaouais.
Seminar Summary
The rise of cybercrime is disrupting governance practices and raising major concerns for boards of directors, executives, and compliance officers. Julien Le Maux presented a reflection on the connections between organizational governance and exposure to cybersecurity threats.

Several members of IMC² took part as panelists or speakers in the Colloquium on Cybersecurity: Societal Challenges, Opportunities, and Action Perspectives, organized by the Expertise Hub on Cybersecurity and Societal Impacts at Obvia.
IMC² was proud to be a partner of this day of reflection, which contributed to strengthening collaboration within Québec’s digital ecosystem.

We were honored to host Mathieu Tartare, a senior malware researcher at ESET, who presented an exciting overview of the digital threats linked to China, illustrated by several concrete case studies.
Thanks to his expertise, our speaker brilliantly detailed the operating methods of various APT groups and led a particularly enriching Q&A session.

A very enriching presentation at IMC2‘s research seminar held at HEC Montréal on Monday, December 2nd!
François Charest captivated us with a talk on the use of large language models (LLMs) for anomaly detection in command lines. By framing the various uses in the context of industrial applications, he illustrated the challenges and opportunities that these methods (based on work conducted in collaboration with McGill University) bring.
This seminar marked our last ‘Cyber Mondays’ seminar of the year. See you in 2025 to continue our exploration of multidisciplinary themes at the heart of cybersecurity and cyber resilience!
