In a context where digital transformation is reshaping our societies, collaboration across disciplines has become an essential lever for addressing the technological and human challenges of cybersecurity.
This presentation highlighted how academic multidisciplinarity acts as a driver of impact in cybersecurity, drawing on the experience of the Multidisciplinary Institute in Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience (IMC²). IMC² brings together experts from diverse fields — computer science, engineering, criminology, management, and cyberpsychology — from Polytechnique Montréal, HEC Montréal, Université de Montréal, and Université du Québec en Outaouais. Together, they address societal cybersecurity challenges in partnership with actors from the public, private, and community ecosystems.
IMC² members also presented the Savoir Innover platform, a project led by Hamed Motaghi and Reda Bensouda, which produces and disseminates case studies, podcasts, and educational resources at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. Through this example, the presentation explored how this initiative contributes to strengthening cybersecurity education and innovation.
Finally, Alice Carey presented the Cyber Citizen Assistance Network (RACc), a project led by Nora Boulahia-Cuppens, which enables students to help non-profit organizations (NPOs) strengthen their protection against cyber threats, combining applied research, training, and community engagement.
